‘This is a good school’
Leaders and governors have a clear vision for the school, ‘Success for all.’ There is a strong drive for excellence, led by the headteacher. Governance is much improved as governors challenge and support leaders effectively.
‘Pupils show a love of book’
They read books that are closely matched to their ability. The teaching of phonics is effective as younger pupils use their knowledge of phonics to support them when reading unfamiliar words.
‘Children are supported effectively to make good progress’
Support for disadvantaged children is well targeted and gives them a positive start to school.
