Meet the Governors

Gillian Knibbs

An education professional with extensive experience spanning primary, secondary, higher and adult education. Gill taught English in Hertfordshire secondary schools for many years and have been involved with school governance of primary schools for 15 years. Most recently, she worked at the University of Hertfordshire delivering a variety of mentoring programmes with an emphasis on mentoring in schools. Gill’s interests include playing, umpiring and coaching netball and writing poetry and organising Ver Poets.

Tracy Prickett

Tracy has been part of the Governing Body since 2003. As the Head Teacher it is essential that she provides the Governing Body with the relevant information to enable them to effectively undertake their Statutory roles. Tracy started her teaching career in 1998 and has had the opportunity to work for and with some excellent leaders who have helped her shape her own leadership.

Mary Murphy

I joined the Governing Body in September 2017, following a long career in the City of London and volunteering across Hertfordshire.

My professional career in Retail Banking and Consultancy over 25 years included Executive Director roles at a major leading UK Bank and several senior roles in directing projects focussing on Strategy and Change Management. Since leaving the City, I have volunteered supporting education across Hertfordshire. I am fully committed to ensuring that our school is able to challenge and develop all pupils to enable them to confidentially develop as active members of our community.

Kai Grunwald

I was appointed as a Governor in September 2017. I am a local resident with two young children and am a passionate believer in the role of primary education in developing well rounded young people that are prepared to embark on fulfilling futures and contributions to society. I was raised and educated in South Africa and currently work as a finance and strategy professional in London. I am keen to help The Reddings effectively manage scarce resources and continuously evolve its strategy in a changing world.

Kerrie Haswell

Assistant Head (Curriculum and Assessment) - I was very lucky to have my first experience of teaching, here at The Reddings, as a first year student teacher and consider myself extremely privileged to be back now as Year 2 class teacher and leader of Key Stage One.  I have now been a teacher for over ten years and have experience of teaching in both Key Stage 1 and 2 but specialise in working with younger learners, which is a joy as they are still at the beginning of their journey into education and making learning exciting and creative is my passion.  Over the years, I have taught at different schools within the local area and have led various subject areas. I love to make learning fun and interactive using drama and working outside the classroom when possible.

At home, I am Mum to 2 boys and enjoy spending my spare time having fun and keeping active with them.

Jeff Fielding

Jeffrey Fielding was born in Durban, South Africa and immigrated to the United Kingdom with his family in 2018. His son attends The Reddings Primary School, which is why he is passionate about helping improve and maintain the standards that have been set by the existing Governing Board and Senior Leadership Team.

He is currently the C.E.O of a financial advisory company that operates in Africa, a post he has held since 2012. Prior to this he was the Regional manager for an international company in Central and Southern Africa. Jeffrey enjoys surfing and marathon running and holds an MBA from the University of Roehampton.

Edwin Garcia

I was raised and educated in central London, where cultural diversity is rich. I am an ex- Credit Derivatives and Bank Capital Broker in the City. I left this role to pursue a more humanitarian career and am now a Leading Firefighter with the London Fire Brigade, whom I've been employed by over the last 12 years. The huge contrast in careers along with my upbringing, has afforded me the privilege of meeting, working and caring for people from all walks of life.

My child attends The Reddings School and I hope to contribute skills and advice from my experience for the benefit of all pupils. I have a Bsc European Business & Technology from Coventry University. I am also a keen Runner and have a love for outdoor sport pursuits.

Tim French-Lynch

I’ve worked for an aerospace company in Luton for 30 years as an IT Manager and Systems Engineer. In my job I figure out how to build a system that will satisfy customer requirements. I believe in giving all children the opportunity to attain the best that they can - in learning, social skills, and resilience. Schools need to produce lifelong learners who can get the best out of life.

My educational interests are mostly around STEAM subjects. I’ve lived in Hemel since 1997 and have a daughter at the primary school next to home, and where I was previously a governor. Other interests include computers, swimming, and obscure science fiction TV.

Being a governor at Reddings will allow me to achieve better separation between home and governance, and an opportunity to see how it all works in a maintained school. I’ll bring data protection and IT skills to this wonderful place of learning.
