The Governors at The Reddings Primary & Nursery School have been elected or appointed to represent parents, staff and various groups within the community. We are a committed group who work collectively to form the Governing Board. We give our time voluntarily to support the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in the governance and strategic leadership of the school.
We organise our work through a structure of meetings, working parties and designated lead governors. The Governing Board meets regularly throughout the term, focusing our meetings on different aspects of our responsibilities. Improvement and Outcomes meetings consider everything to do with children’s education and wellbeing whilst the Finance and Resources meetings consider premises, personnel and finance. Full Governing Board meetings consider strategic items and statutory requirements.
Governors are committed to their ongoing professional development, attending a range of Governance training organised by Herts for Learning to ensure they are fully equipped and effective in their roles.
Governors visit the school regularly during the day to focus on various aspects of the school, see policy put into action and measure its effectiveness, whilst enabling governors to understand fully the day to day aspects of school life. We actively encourage feedback from parents and carers and we are always happy to meet with you. Contact can be made via the school office.
